Everything people ask us

Prices, timelines, ownership, tax, what we will not do. Every answer here is the same one you will get on a call — and the same one that appears on the service, product and country page it came from.

Pricing and payment

Why do you publish prices when most agencies don't?

Because hiding them costs us more than it earns. You are probably comparing three or four vendors, and if we are outside your budget it wastes both of our time to discover that on call three. It also makes us easier to trust: an unknown company asking you to enquire before it will name a number is asking for a lot of faith.

How much does a website cost?

It depends on scope, but we publish real starting points rather than hiding behind a quote form. Most business websites land between ₹80,000 – ₹3,00,000 in India, or $1,800 – $4,500 in the United States — each market has its own price list rather than one price run through a currency converter, and the pricing page shows yours once you pick your country. Ecommerce and custom software cost more. We will tell you the number before you commit, and we will tell you if you do not need what you are asking for.

What makes a project land at the top of the range?

Page count and custom functionality, mostly. A ten-page website with a contact form sits near the bottom. A store with 2,000 products, ERP sync and B2B pricing tiers sits near the top. Integrations with systems that have poor documentation are the single most common reason an estimate moves.

How do you price a project when the scope is not clear yet?

We do not pretend to. For anything substantial we run a short paid discovery sprint first — you get a specification, a real estimate and a plan, and you own that document whether or not you continue with us.

Do you charge in INR or USD?

Both. Indian clients are invoiced in INR with GST. International clients are invoiced in USD, GBP, EUR, CAD or AED, and can pay into local account details in their own country. We are a registered Indian exporter, so our invoices are export-compliant.

What are your payment terms in practice?

40% on commencement, 40% at an agreed midpoint, 20% on handover, unless the statement of work says otherwise. Retainers are billed monthly in advance and cancellable with 30 days' notice. Invoices are payable within 14 days.

Is there a minimum engagement?

Not for projects. For SEO there effectively is — six months, because anything shorter cannot produce a result and we would just be taking your money. We will say so rather than sell you a three-month SEO package.

What stops you taking my deposit and disappearing?

A fair question to ask anyone you have not worked with, and more so across a border. Three concrete answers. First, the payment schedule is built so you are never far ahead of the work: 40% to start, 40% at an agreed midpoint you have to sign off, 20% on handover. Second, larger builds run in phases — you can stop after phase one, keep what is built, and owe nothing further. Third, we are a registered Indian company with a published GSTIN you can verify on the government portal before you send anything, and our founder's own businesses are named and linked on this site. None of that is possible for someone planning to vanish.

Working with us

Where are you based, and does that matter?

We are an Indian company, registered as THE TECH GENIUS DIGITAL MARKETING STORE under GSTIN 23BERPB1541P1ZD, working with clients across India, the US, UK, Canada, the UAE and Europe. We publish our registration so you can verify we are a real company before you send anyone money. Being India-based is also why we can deliver at a fraction of Western agency rates — same senior work, different cost base.

Do you actually build software, or just websites?

Both. We ship our own products — Relaywave for enterprise WhatsApp automation and Roomline for hotel booking and upsell — alongside custom builds for clients. Very few full-service agencies ship real software of their own. That is the difference we would ask you to judge us on.

How long does a website take?

A straightforward business site takes three to five weeks from kickoff. Larger builds with custom functionality take six to twelve. We give you a real date at scoping, and weekly builds you can click so you are never waiting in silence.

What if we need changes halfway through?

You will. Every project changes. We build in phases and re-quote changes as they come, so you always know the running cost. What we do not do is absorb scope silently and then present a surprise invoice.

Do I own the website when it is finished?

Completely. The code, the hosting account, the domain and the analytics are all in your name. We document everything and hand it over. If you later want to move to another agency, nothing stops you.

Who owns the code?

You do, on final payment, assigned in writing in the contract. We ask only for the right to describe the work in our portfolio, and we will keep it anonymous if you prefer.

You are a small team. What happens if you disappear?

A fair question and you should ask it of any vendor. Our answer: standard technologies rather than anything exotic, documented code, and everything in repositories and accounts you own. If we vanished tomorrow, another developer could take over.

Websites and ecommerce

What do you build websites with?

Mostly Next.js and React for custom builds, and Shopify for ecommerce where it fits. We pick based on what the site has to do and who has to maintain it, not on what we feel like using. We will explain the choice in plain English before we start.

Can you redesign an existing site without losing our rankings?

Yes, and this matters more than most people realise. A redesign done carelessly can wipe out years of search visibility. We map every existing URL, set up redirects, preserve what already ranks, and monitor for drops after launch.

Shopify or a custom build?

Shopify for most brands — hosting, security, payments and PCI compliance are handled, and the running cost is predictable. Custom when you have genuinely unusual logic: complex B2B pricing, deep ERP integration, or a marketplace model. We do not push custom because it bills more.

Can you migrate our existing store without losing rankings?

Yes. Product and collection URL mapping with redirects is the core of the job. Done badly, a migration can cost you most of your organic revenue overnight, so we plan the redirect map before we touch anything and monitor closely after launch.

Do you handle payment gateways for India and internationally?

Yes — Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, Stripe, PayPal, and cash on delivery with OTP verification for the Indian market. We will advise on which combination fits where you actually sell.

AI, automation and WhatsApp

Which AI models do you build on?

Whichever fits the job — Claude, GPT, Gemini and open-weight models all have places where they are the right answer. We build so the model can be swapped, because pricing and capability change every few months and you should not be locked in.

Will this replace my staff?

Usually not, and we would be cautious of anyone promising it will. What it reliably does is remove the repetitive portion of a role. The honest pitch is capacity, not headcount reduction.

What does it cost to run each month?

It depends on volume, and we model it before you commit rather than after. Model costs have fallen roughly ninety percent since 2023, so running costs are often lower than people expect — but you should see the number first.

How do we know it is still working correctly in six months?

Because we build the monitoring in. Quality tracking against a test set, alerts when outputs drift, and a review cadence. This is the part most AI projects skip and the reason so many quietly rot.

What does WhatsApp actually cost per message?

It depends on the recipient's country and the message category, and it changed to per-message billing in July 2025. India is among the cheapest markets and Germany among the most expensive — the spread runs to roughly thirteen times. Note that the rate follows your customer's country, not yours. We will price your real volumes before you commit.

Do I need the official Business API, or is the free app enough?

If you are answering a handful of chats a day, the free Business app is fine and we will say so. The API is worth it once you need automation, multiple agents on one number, or integration with your systems.

Can you take over an existing WhatsApp setup?

Yes. Numbers can be migrated between providers, and we handle the verification, template rebuild and flow rebuild. We will map your existing journeys first so nothing you already rely on goes missing in the move.

How do we avoid getting our number banned?

Genuine opt-in, relevant messages, easy opt-out, and watching your quality rating. Bans almost always follow from messaging people who did not ask to hear from you. We build the opt-in handling in from the start.

Social media and content

What makes your social work different?

We build the destination as well as the post. When a reel performs, the landing page it points at is one we wrote, on a site we made fast, with the enquiry going straight into a system we set up. Most social agencies hand the traffic over at the edge of the platform and hope. We follow it all the way to the enquiry.

Do you use AI to make the content?

For parts of it, yes, and we will not pretend otherwise. AI handles drafting and variation; a human directs, edits and approves everything before it goes out. Fully automated content reads like fully automated content.

Which platforms do you cover?

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts, mainly. We will recommend fewer platforms done properly over a presence everywhere done thinly.

Our own products

How quickly can we be live on Relaywave?

Business verification and template approval are the long poles, and those sit with Meta rather than us — typically a few days. Once your number is verified we can have your first journeys running the same week.

How is this different from an off-the-shelf WhatsApp platform?

Off-the-shelf platforms hand you a fixed feature set and you shape your business around it. We build the flows around how your business already works — your booking logic, your CRM, your fulfilment rules, your language. If something you need does not exist, we write it. That is the whole difference, and it is not a difference a platform product can close, because a product has to work the same way for everyone.

Do you resell Meta's messaging at a markup?

Yes, and we show you the markup. Every provider adds margin; the difference is whether you can see it. Ours is itemised on the invoice next to Meta's own charge.

How long does Roomline take to set up?

Budget two weeks. That is how long our own property took, and the work is mapping your room types, rates and policies into the system and connecting your existing PMS and channels — we do that part, not you. A large estate with unusual rate rules takes longer, and we will say so before you commit.

Will it replace my PMS?

It does not have to. Roomline sits alongside whatever you already run and takes over the guest-messaging layer. If you would rather replace an ageing PMS entirely, we build those too — our own hotel runs on one we wrote.

Why is there no published price for Roomline?

It is quoted per property, because a twelve-room homestay and a ninety-room hotel with two banquet halls are genuinely different systems rather than the same system with a bigger invoice. Pricing scales with room count and which modules you actually switch on — most properties do not start with all ten. You get a fixed monthly figure on a short call, before you commit to anything, and the individual services inside it have published starting prices on our pricing page so you can sanity-check the total.

Do I have to take the whole system?

No. Most brands start with the storefront or with SEO and add the rest once it earns its place. The modules are designed to connect, not to be sold as an all-or-nothing bundle.

Can you work with the store I already have?

Usually, yes. We will look at what you have before recommending a rebuild — if your existing store is sound, spending your money replacing it would be the wrong call and we would say so.

How is Dealerline different from Storeline?

Which side of the warehouse you are on. Storeline is the growth system for a brand selling its own stock — storefront, SEO, content, sales automation. Dealerline is the rail between a storefront and a dealer who holds the stock for it: catalogue ingestion, stock and price sync, order routing and settlement billing. If the inventory is yours, you want Storeline. If the inventory belongs to someone you have an arrangement with, you want this. Brands that do both run them together, and the marketing modules are shared rather than billed twice.

Does our dealer have to install anything?

No. The app installs on your storefront. Your dealer's side is a catalogue feed in whatever format they already produce, and orders arriving with the detail they need to pick and ship. We do the mapping between the two, because that mapping is the actual work and it is not reasonable to hand it to a supplier as a condition of doing business with you.

Can you run the commercial side too, rather than just the software?

Yes, and that is the fifty-fifty partnership. You buy and hold the inventory, warehouse it, hand each order to the shipping company and make the call on what is worth stocking. We build and run the storefront, the catalogue, the SEO, the marketing, the WhatsApp automation, the order management and the analytics. Profit splits down the middle, so we carry the same risk you do. The work page sets out both halves in full.

White-label and agency partners

Can you work as a white-label partner for my agency?

Yes, and it is a deliberate part of how we work. We build under your brand, stay off client calls if you prefer, and sign non-circumvention terms. Agencies typically keep 55–65% margin on what we deliver. See the partners page for how it works.

What margin do agencies typically make?

Work it out from the rate card: our wholesale price against what agencies in your market typically bill puts your margin in the 55–65% range on a build. What you charge on top is your business and we never ask. Retainers usually leave more room than builds, because the wholesale rate stays flat while your client's monthly fee does not.

How do I know you won't steal my client?

You have our signature on a non-circumvention agreement before we see who they are. Beyond the contract, there is a commercial reason to trust it: partner work is repeat, predictable revenue, and stealing one client would end that permanently. The maths does not favour us cheating you.

Can you work in our project management tools?

Yes. Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Trello, Basecamp, Notion, Slack — we work inside your setup rather than asking you to adopt ours. If you would rather just email, that is fine too.

What are your turnaround times?

A straightforward business website is three to five weeks. Shopify builds are four to eight. SEO retainers run monthly on an agreed deliverable schedule. We give you a date at quoting, and we would rather quote longer and hit it than quote short and miss.

Do you have capacity for ongoing volume?

We are a small team, and we would rather say that plainly than overcommit and let you down. We take on partner volume we can genuinely deliver. If a month is full we will tell you before you promise your client a date.

Still not answered?

Ask the question directly. You will get a straight answer, not a sales sequence.
